Currently, Hoa Binh's power load is supplied from 220kV substations of Hoa Binh (2x63MVA), Xuan Mai (125 + 250MVA) and eight other 110kV substations with a total capacity of 356MVA. The 110kV substations are currently carrying a load of 50-70%.
In recent years, EVN has ensured power supply to serve the province's socio-economic development and people's daily needs. In particular, in the period 2016-2019, the province's commercial power grew on average 10% per year. In the first four months of 2020, the province's commercial power reached 291.92 million kWh, 29.19% of the plan and up 5.16% compared to that of the same period in 2019. Power supplied to industry - construction sectors accounted for 49.6% of load components. The largest load capacity of Hoa Binh province is about 200MW.

In order to ensure the power supply for Hoa Binh province in the coming time, EVN is investing in a series of 110-220kV power grid projects, which includes the project of improving Hoa Binh - Chem 220kV line, Yen Thuy 220kV substation and connecting points, improving Hoa Binh - Ha Dong 220kV substation, raising the capacity of Hoa Binh 220kV substation, improving Son Tay - Hoa Binh 220kV substation, Yen Thuy 110kV line and substation, Ky Son - Luong Son 110kV substation, Phu Minh 110kV substation.
Particularly for medium and low-voltage electricity grids, in 2020, EVN is investing in renovating and preventing overloading of 18 projects with the total value of capital sources of about VND 100 billion.
At the meeting on the afternoon of 18 May 2020, EVN Chairman of the Board Duong Quang Thanh proposed the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee of Hoa Binh province to direct departments, agencies and People's Committees of districts to create conditions and support National Power Transmission Corporation, Northern Power Corporation, Hoa Binh Power Company in land compensation and site clearance according to the required schedule, ensuring sufficient land fund for electrical works to make investment in accordance with the approved planning.
At the same time, it is recommended that the province directs power customers as industrial parks, large loads with demand of 20MW or more to arrange land for building stations and 110kV transmission line corridors. Continue to support the Electricity sector in propaganda, inspection and supervision of the implementation of power saving in the locality, strengthening extensive propaganda among the people on the responsibility of protecting the safety of high-voltage grid works, etc.
Regarding customer service, it is proposed that the province would continue to create favorable conditions and support Hoa Binh Power Company to handle electricity services at the public administrative centers of the province.
Mr. Bui Van Tinh - Secretary of the Hoa Binh Provincial Party Committee acknowledged and appreciated the contribution made by businesses of EVN in the province, in which power grid has been connected to 100% of communes and basically all the households in the province has been supplied power. The assurance of better quality of power has helped boost investment and socio-economic development in the province.
