Chairman of EVN’s Board of Directors Dang Hoang An works with YNIC leadership

On April 3, in Hanoi, EVN’s Chairman of the Board of Directors Dang Hoang An welcomed and worked with Mr. Duong Duc Giam - Chairman of the Board of Members of Yunnan International Company (YNIC) on the cooperation between the two parties. YNIC is a subsidiary of China Southern Power Grid Company (CSG).

At the meeting, Mr. Duong Duc Giam, YNIC's Chairman, affirmed that China and Vietnam are having a strategic partnership. Cooperation in electricity trading with Vietnam has become an important part of the economic and trade cooperation between China and Vietnam.

Yunnan International Company has been implementing CSG's electricity cooperation activities with South Asia and Southeast Asia, actively realizing the goal of friendly neighbors and mutually beneficial development strategies, constantly strengthening electricity cooperation with neighboring countries in general and Vietnam in particular.

In the coming time, YNIC hopes that the two parties will continue to expand the scale of power grid connection, optimize connection methods, and actively contribute to the prosperity and socio-economic development of China and Vietnam. Currently, YNIC is researching and developing clean energy types such as wind power, solar power, pumped storage hydropower, etc. YNIC wishes to develop cooperation with EVN in this area.

Mr. Duong Duc Giam also said that YNIC is in the process of learning and promoting cooperation with the Northern Power Corporation EVNNPC and Power Engineering and  Consulting Joint Stock Company No.1 PECC1 in electrical engineering, 500kV HVDC grid technology, energy storage technology, electrical testing room, training, online maintenance work, etc.

EVN’s Chairman highly appreciated YNIC's close cooperation with EVN's subsidiaries. At present, cooperation activities between EVN and YNIC are being implemented effectively.

2024 marks the 20th year of EVN and CSG/YNIC cooperation in electricity trading. EVN's Chairman believed and wished to expand the cooperation relationship with YNIC.

The leader of EVN also proposed that YNIC share experience in operating control centers, smart grids, renewable energy, etc. with EVN’s member units.

At the meeting, the two parties discussed in detail and agreed on contents related to the negotiation process of purchasing electricity from China to Vietnam during the peak months of the dry season in 2024, to contribute to strengthening electricity supply security in the coming months.
