Attending the Seminar were Mr. Nguyen Duc Kien - Vice Chairman of the Economic Committee of the National Assembly; Mr. Ho Sy Hung - Vice Chairman of the Commission of Management of State Capital at enterprises; representatives of agencies, departments, institutes, the Central Party Office, the Central Economic Committee, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Ministry of Finance, experts, scientists, etc.
On EVN side, there were Mr. Duong Quang Thanh - Chairman of Board of Directors, Mr. Tran Dinh Nhan – President and CEO and leaders of functional departments.

Following the direction of the Government, the Commission of Management of State Capital at enterprises has directed EVN to develop the Project.
According to Mr. Ho Sy Hung - Vice Chairman of the Commission, the Project has reflected relatively fully the accomplishments achieved from the EVN Development Strategy for the period 2007 - 2015, assessed the socio - economic situation, opportunities and challenges of the coming period and formulated a development strategy for the period until 2025, with a vision to 2030.

This Project has important implications for EVN's operations in the future, at the same time it affects the development strategy of the power industry and the national energy development strategy. Therefore, the Commission of Management of State Capital at enterprises and EVN are looking forward to receiving comments and advices from experts, scientists and managers so that the Commission can complete the Project, submit it to the Government and consult with relevant organizations.
At the Seminar, experts and scientists highly evaluated that the Project has been elaborately and meticulously developed, closely following the direction and policies of the Party and the State. The Project has pointed out specific goals in all operation areas of the Group in the coming period.
Some subjects have drawn much attention from experts, scientists and managers such as: In the coming time, EVN should keep on identifying more obviously the position and missions of the Group, especially when the competitive retail electricity market comes into operation; further analysis should be conducted about challenges faced by EVN when the proportion of ownership of EVN in power generation in the system is declining; financial arrangement issues, impacts of climate change on electricity supply, and growing demand loads, etc.
In addition, experts also believe that it is necessary to separate the public utility mission (bringing electricity to remote areas, mountainous areas and islands) from production and business activities of EVN.
Thanks to the valuable comments of experts, scientists, managers, Mr. Duong Quang Thanh - Chairman of EVN's Board of Directors affirmed that EVN would absorb all to complete the Project; with the aim of developing EVN into the leading economic group in the field of energy in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.

- Closely linking production, business with science and technology, research and development, training;
- To act as the core for Vietnam's power sector to develop rapidly, sustainably, compete and integrate effectively into the international economy;
- Maximizing the performance of Vietnam National Electricity Group.
