Continuing to promote sustainable cooperation between EVN and KEPCO

On June 11, 2024, in Hanoi, EVN's President and CEO Nguyen Anh Tuan hosted a meeting with the delegation from Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) to discuss cooperation opportunities and signed an extension of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two companies.

The meeting was attended by EVN's Vice President Nguyen Tai Anh and representatives from EVN's specialized departments.

Representing KEPCO was Mr. Kim Dong Cheol, President and CEO of KEPCO, along with representatives from various units within the Corporation.

EVN's President and CEO Nguyen Anh Tuan emphasized that Vietnam Electricity Corporation views KEPCO as a key partner. He expressed appreciation for the projects KEPCO has implemented in Vietnam, highlighting the support and collaboration with EVN over the past years. Notably, the BOT Vung Ang 2 project, once operational, will significantly contribute to the power supply in the future.

Given these positive outcomes, President and CEO Nguyen Anh Tuan expressed hope for continued cooperation and investment from KEPCO in Vietnam's energy projects.

KEPCO's President and CEO Kim Dong Cheol affirmed their willingness to expand cooperation beyond existing projects like BOT Vung Ang and the Nghi Son 2 Thermal Power Plant and specifically deepen its partnership with EVN in the fields of power development.

KEPCO's leadership highlighted their stable infrastructure and highly reliable power supply indexes. They are continually developing technology and investing in new projects to enhance their power supply capabilities. With their extensive experience, KEPCO hopes to continue supporting EVN in ensuring a stable power supply and efficient energy use. They also expressed interest in exchanging and sharing expertise with EVN on coal and LNG imports, virtual power plants (IDPP), and digital transformation.

On this occasion, Vietnam Electricity Corporation and Korea Electric Power Corporation signed an extension of their Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

Both EVN's President and CEO Nguyen Anh Tuan and KEPCO's President and CEO Kim Dong Cheol expressed confidence that the collaboration between KEPCO and EVN will continue to strengthen, further solidifying the partnership between the two Corporations and contribute to the positive relationship between Vietnam and South Korea.
