This workshop is one of the activities within the framework of a Memorandum of Understanding on bilateral cooperation between GE and EVN, which was signed during the official visit by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to the United States from 6th to 10th June, 2015.
The workshop attracted participation of leaders, the technical experts of the Power Generation Corporations, the Power Plants under EVN, together representatives from the Vietnam National Coal – Mineral Industries Group, Vietnam Oil and Gas Group and partners of GE in Vietnam.
According to EVN Vice President Ngo Son Hai, currently, EVN is focusing on improving the reliability, performance, efficiency of the equipment at the power plants and on the power networks. The solutions from GE will enable the subsidiaries of EVN to ensure the most reliable, safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the equipment.

At the workshop, Mr. Luiz Gonzalez- Director General of the Asia-Pacific Digital and Energy Services of GE said: "GE has had long experience in the development of digital technology. The advantages of digital technology solutions of GE are the overall characteristics for the entire power system, from power generation, transmission to power distribution. The application of these solutions will help optimize operating costs as well as business results, and support to the management work. This is the value chain that GE can offer for the units of EVN" Mr. Luiz Gonzalez insisted.
For the hydropower plants of EVN, GE's experts will check the status of network security, based on the existing foundation of the power plants to provide the solutions to ensuring security of information and perform operational system optimization solutions of the power plant. It is known that the solutions of GE in the field of hydropower have been applied at more than 800 power plants worldwide.
The workshop was also an occasion for the two sides to exchange technical knowledge, share about technology trends of the world and specifically discuss on the application of digital technology to the power plants in Vietnam.
