On the second day of the talk show, there were 12 presentations by experts on issues such as Power grid digital transformation, smart technologies and smart grid operation, network security; Digital transformation improves customers' lives; Digital skills, green and decent jobs and gender issues – Equitable energy transition.
Expert Arya Fazilat from the 50Hertz Transmission Gmbh (one of the four Power Transmission Corporations of the Federal Republic of Germany, under the ELIA Group) presented the experiences in the digital transformation process, as well as in the smart grid building at this corporation. Accordingly, ELIA conducts digital transformation with the main solutions: Developing new and modern technologies in core business activities; Improving the information technology platform; Capacity and culture improvement to ensure value creation to stay focused and aligned with strategy. Solutions are implemented synchronously and with the participation of the entire organization.
Mr. Jesper Vauvert, an international expert on Energy Efficiency, also analyzed the applicability of AI in the field of energy management, fault diagnosis, control and monitoring, energy sources verification, etc.. Mr. Jesper Vauvert also commented that the digital transformation roadmap will only be successful when businesses deal well with the issues of cybersecurity, data ownership/sharing, communication protocols/standards, and quality improvement of capacity resources.
Especially, analyzing the women’s role in digital transformation and equitable energy transition, Ms. Melita Rogelj, an expert from GFA Consulting - a leading consulting company in Germany in the field of cooperation and development said that businesses need to promote women to participate more actively in the business digital transformation process as well as in the equitable energy transition. To do that, businesses need to build gender equality in leadership appointments, access to digital knowledge and equality in decisions.
According to Ms. Melita Rogelj, gender equality in the equitable energy transition will be ensured when there is an appropriate policy basis, including access to sustainable education, the comprehensive participation of women with the support of networks and diverse workforce building in the energy sector.
In addition to useful information from experts, the delegates also participated in four talk show sessions with the following topics: Future of the Power Sector – Power grid digital transformation, smart technologies and smart grid operation, network security; How digital transformation improves customers' lives and How to ensure gender issues in the direction of implementing the equitable energy transition.
The third working day of the talk show will take place in Ninh Binh province with the following topics: Information and data on gender issues in Vietnam; Gender issues in the energy sector; Success stories from women in the energy sector.
In addition, experts from GIZ will introduce to EVN delegates some solutions to raise awareness of gender equality, including the idea of establishing a Women’s Network in the Energy sector in Viet Nam.
The talk show jointly organized by GIZ and EVN is an opportunity for the parties to exchange and grasp new trends in energy transition, digital transformation as well as gender equality activities in the energy sector in Vietnam and around the world.
