Until the transfer moment, the second power unit of Duyen Hai 3 Thermal Power Plant has generated 806 million kWh to the national power grid.
Before that, on March 29th, the first power unit had been officially handed over to Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company for commercial operation.
As a result, to this point, Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company has taken charge of managing and operating the entire Duyen Hai 3 Thermal Power Plant Project.
The Plant is composed of two power units with the total installed capacity of 1,245 MW, being located at Lang Chao hamlet, Dan Thanh commune, Duyen Hai town, Tra Vinh province. The project is owned and invested by Vietnam Electricity / Power Generation Corporation No.1, managed and implemented by the Thermal Power Project Management Board No. 3.
During the construction time, particularly in the testing and commissioning period, the Thermal Power Project Management Board No. 3 closely coordinated with consultants and contractors to opportunely overcome all the difficulties, obstacles arisen in order to put the Plant into operation on schedule and with satisfactory quality.
At the same time, Power Generation Corporation No. 1 has appropriately mobilized experienced managers and engineers from their member units to timely assist the Project during the testing and commissioning period.
The environmental protection system at the Plant has been put into operation right in the plant testing and commissioning period and has been tested, verified by the local authorities to ensure that environmental parameters and indices are in compliance with the current regulations.
Currently, the Thermal Power Project Management Board No. 3 and their contractors are expediting their works to urgently fulfill procedures required for obtaining the Permanent Acceptance Certificate (PAC) for the Plant. In parallel, during the first two years of commercial operation, the Thermal Power Project Management Board No. 3 and their contractors will sustain cooperation with Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company to guarantee that the power units will operate safely and stably.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Phien – Director of Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company said that: It is planned that in 2017 Duyen Hai 3 Thermal Power Plant will generate an electricity output of about 4.7 billion kWh. Therefore, after being transferred for operation and management, the Plant will be harnessed to the maximum extent in order to timely supplement a power generation source for the provinces and cities in the South.
