In 2022, the reliability index of power plants in EVN will be better, and the availability factor of all types of plants will reach over 90%.
According to the Head of EVN's Technical and Production Department, the power system's management and operation capacity has been improved, meeting the requirements of power system management in the context of high penetration of renewable energy and solar power.
The Group has directed the National Load Dispatch Center (A0) to complete the system for selecting renewable energy forecast sources from four different forecast sources. The results of the selection of forecast data are automatically and continuously summarized with high accuracy in a timely manner to serve the mobilizing, planning schedule, and balance of supply and demand for the national power system. Application of automatic generating capacity control (AGC) system to effectively support the dispatching, and optimal operation in real-time of renewable energy sources in case of low load or overload of the regional power grid, ensuring publicity, fairness, and transparency.
Head of EVN Technical and Production Department Nguyen Hai Ha presenting the report
In 2022, EVN as a whole has reduced grid incidents by 60% compared to 2017’s. The reliability of the distribution grid of all units reached the 2022 plan. The units have strengthened management to reduce incidents on medium and low-voltage power grids; coordinate work, strengthen hotline repair to minimize the impact of business power outages; continue to improve and perfect the power grids, increase the application of automation, etc. To fulfill the targets of power supply reliability, improve the quality of power supplied to customers. Specifically, the power supply reliability index in 2022 reached SAIDI of 267.1 minutes/customer/year, SAIFI 2.61 times, and MAIFI 1.47 times. The rate of power loss of the whole system decreased lower than the plan and the lowest ever (the whole EVN performed 6.25% lower). Over the past 5 years, EVN has reduced the figure by nearly 1%.
EVN has promoted digital transformation in technical management, so far the tasks of the period 2021 - 2022 have been basically completed such as: Completing the database of the PMIS software system; repair, maintenance, and efficient exploitation of equipment; building dashboards in the technical field, upgrading the PMIS system; field applications, and so on.
On the basis of the results achieved, EVN sets out the main targets of the technical management in 2023, including 3 main targets: Concentrating all efforts to ensure power supply for the socio-economic development of the country and people's life; achieving and surpassing the technical management targets of 2023 according to the roadmap of technical indicators of 2021-2022 period. At the same time, it is expected to implement the theme of 2023 on saving and anti-waste practices in the production and operation of power supply.
