EVN’s Vice President Nguyen Tai Anh spoke at the meeting
The meeting was hosted by the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) - the current Chairman of the HAPUA Council. Also attending the meeting were delegations from the HAPUA Secretariat, representatives of leaders of power utilities and authorities of 10 countries including Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
At this meeting, the delegates focused on discussing and giving opinions on activities in the Energy Cooperation Strategy of ASEAN countries, such as the ASEAN action plan on energy cooperation (Phase 2); progress of “The ASEAN Interconnection Masterplan Study (AIMS III)”, etc.
In addition, the delegates also listened to the HAPUA Secretariat information on the results of the 39th ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Energy (SOME) held in June 2021; updated information on the power interconnection project among Laos, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore (LTMS-PIP); adopted the Joint Statement of the 37th HAPUA Council Meeting.
On this occasion, Thailand officially transferred to Vietnam the position of Chairman of HAPUA Council for the next term.
