EVN continues to add new power source for two systems

In the first 10 months of 2017, the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) has energized 9 generating units with a total capacity of 2.135 MW, including: Trung Son Hydropower Plant (4 x 65 MW), Thai Binh Thermal Power Plant (2 x 300 MW), Thac Mo Hydropower Expansion Plant (75MW) and Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant (2 x 600MW).

EVN have made effort in deploying many power source projects in the past time. EVN’s key power projects have closely followed the planned progress.

In particular, Vinh Tan 4 Thermal power project is expected to generate commercial power the first generating unit in November 2017; Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Expansion Project continues to speed up constructing of some items under the critical path such as water and waste water treatment systems; The project of Duyen Hai 3 Coal thermal expansion port completed the channel dredging of the second phase from the elevation of -9.5 meters to ensure the landing of 30,000-ton-coal ships and put the second wharf into trial operation.

Some targets set by EVN on investment in power plants constructing in November 2017: Directing contractors to supply quality coal for pilot testing the generating units; ensuring the progress of dredging coal port of Vinh Tan Power Center to the elevation of -13.5 meters for landing of 50,000-ton ships; speeding up the construction progress of Duyen Hai 3 thermal power expansion project to ensure the first milestone of oil fired by the end of 2017; urgently improving and upgrading the environmental treatment systems at the operating thermal power plants, etc.
