EVN continues to review the electricity supply situation for APEC 2017

A video conference on reviewing the works of securing the electricity supply to the 25th APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting (APEC 2017) was chaired by EVN’s Vice President Ngo Son Hai on August 18, 2017.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh - Deputy General Director of the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) said that in Da Nang APEC high - ranking week will take place in nine locations in November 2017. Therefore, EVNCPC has invested VND 1,253 billion to rehabilitate and upgrade the power grid to meet the standard N-1.

Electricity supply to critical locations is guaranteed at three levels of backups, including: grid – connected electricity, on-site emergency standby diesel generators and UPS for priority loads. Currently, EVNCPC urgently finishes 8 remaining medium voltage projects as planned, which are expected to be energized at the end of September 2017.

EVN’s Vice President Ngo Son Hai highly appreciated the good coordination between EVN's subsidiaries and the local authorities in preparing for electricity supply to this important political event. The EVN’s leader requested power companies to coordinate with the regional power dispatch center to smoothly secure electricity supply; the National Power Transmission Corporation shall intensify inspection of equipment and the super high voltage grid systems so as to undertake the safe and stable supply of electricity to the regions.

Power grid down drill will be implemented at the end of September 2017. EVN’s Vice President asked all the relevant organizations to concentrate their full resources and efforts to supply electricity to the political event in an absolutely safe manner as assigned by the Government.
