Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Duong Quang Thanh - Secretary of Party Committee, Chairman of EVN’s Board of Members affirmed: Along with the task of securing adequate electricity for socio-economic development of the country, EVN also performs an important political task which is to bring electricity to remote, rural, mountainous and island areas; contributing to maintaining the national security, defense and the national sovereignty.
With the reception of electricity system in Con Co island district, EVN has managed operation and supplied electricity in 11 out of 12 island districts of the country.
After taking over, EVN assigns the Central Power Corporation, directly Quang Tri Power Company, to manage and operate the power system, ensuring 24/24h power supply and meeting the electricity demand in the island.
Particularly, in the short time (from May 2017 to August 2017), the People's Committee of Quang Tri province and EVN had coordinated without any delays and reported to the Prime Minister and other ministries on the transfer of electricity system on Con Co Island for EVN. This transfer is also a desire of the people in Quang Tri Province and demonstrates a high sense of responsibility of Vietnam Electricity.
