EVNSPC has been working with the Sun Group to finance a project for electricity delivery to Hon Thom island commune, Phu Quoc, Kien Giang province. The project totally costs VND 283 billion, comprising a new 9.27 km of underground cable and a 22 kV power line across the sea, with the aim of delivering electricity to 97 households in Hon Roi hamlet and around 1000 households residing in Hon Thom island commune. The project is a part of a resettlement project of the Sun Group and is scheduled to be implemented by the end of 2017.
EVNSPC has performed a project for supplying electricity from the national grid to island communes in Kien Giang province with the total investment cost of VND 1,350 billion, which is envisaged to complete during the period 2018 -2020. In parallel, the Corporation has implemented a Project for restructuring the power grid in Phu Quoc island in order to secure electricity delivery to Phu Quoc island district in a safe and reliable manner. The project has the total investment cost of approximately VND 250 billion and will be completed by the year 2018.
Regarding Kien Binh – Phu Quoc 220 kV transmission line project in Kien Giang province, EVNSPC has cooperated with the local authorities of Kien Giang province, Governmental Ministries and Agencies and Vietnam Electricity to do surveys and come up with route lineaments. At present, the feasibility study of the project has been developed by a consultant. The project will begin by the end of 2017. The project aims to invest the second power line to evacuate electricity from the mainland to Phu Quoc district island, 73 km long, with the total investment cost of VND 2,436 billion.
In 2016, EVNSPC finished energizing a project for connecting the national power grid to Lai Son island commune in Kien Giang province with the total investment cost of VND 270.3 billion, in order to provide electricity to 1,956 households in the island and finished a project for supplying electricity to Hon Nghe island commune in Kien Giang province with the total investment cost of VND 97.3 billion to provide electricity to more than 500 households in the island.
In the beginning of 2017, EVNSPC had completed a project for electricity delivery to Son Hai island commune in Kien Giang province to bring electricity to nearly 560 households. The project was composed of 4 km long 22 kV medium voltage power lines across the sea and a new 4.8 km long three – phase medium voltage power line in the island with the total investment cost of VND 32.7 billion.
