EVN holds training courses on RCM for thermal power plants

RCM stands for reliability centered maintenance. This is an advanced maintenance approach, using international best practices and being incorporated in the digital transformation program by Vietnam Electricity.

RCM training program for thermal power plants phase 2 was opened by Vietnam Electricity in the morning of September 22, in Ho Chi Minh City.

According to the working schedule, the program took place during September 22 -25 for Power Generation Corporation 1;  Uong Bi, Quang Ninh, Duyen Hai, Nghi Son, Vinh Tan 4, Thai Binh, Thu Duc Thermal Power Plants / Companies and EVN Power Service Center.

Some main contents of the training program include: an overview of RCM; maintenance concepts; maintenance types; RCM analysis and evaluation guidelines for thermal power plants; experience in RCM performance in a number of member organizations under EVN; etc.

According to Mr. Ngo Son Hai – EVN Vice President, EVN has adequate resources in terms of finance, technology and human resources, etc. to put RCM in reality. However, with the aim of successfully RCM realization, leaders and employees of thermal power plants do need to change their mindsets, working philosophy, and willing to reform the existing working processes.

RCM training is a long term program. In parallel with other training courses organized by EVN, corporations / companies / power plants should take the initiative in organizing appropriate training courses for their member units, in order to accelerate and improve the efficiency of RCM performance in the coming time. In addition, it is necessary to formulate programs for studying and experience exchange with domestic and foreign organizations that have effectively performed the RCM - Mr. Ngo Son Hai said.

RCM brings many benefits such as: Ensuring safety and friendliness with the environment; improving operation performance; improving cost efficiency; extending equipment lifetime, etc. In particular, RCM also contributes to enhancing motivation of every individual, group performance; enabling leaders to have better understanding and evaluation of required resources.

In the past, EVN organized a training course on RCM phase 1 (from September 8 - 11) for the following member organizations: Power Generation Corporation 2, Power Generation Corporation 3; Hai Phong, Pha Lai, Can Tho, Mong Duong, Ninh Binh, Vinh Tan 2, Phu My, Ba Ria thermal power plants / companies.
