EVN leaders work with contractors, urging construction progress of project of 500kV line, circuit 3

On February 21, in Hanoi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Electricity (EVN) Dang Hoang An chaired a working session with contractors participating in the project of 500kV line, circuit 3, from Quang Trach to Pho Noi, to review construction progress and urge contractors to mobilize human and material resources to speed up project progress. The meeting was held both offline and online.

The meeting was also attended by EVN’s General Director Nguyen Anh Tuan, Member of EVN’s Board of Directors Nguyen Duc Cuong, EVN’s Vice President Pham Hong Phuong, leaders of EVN's specialized departments, leaders of the National Power Transmission Corporation, construction contractors, designers, consultants, and equipment suppliers for the project, and so on.

The 500kV, circuit 3, transmission line project, from Quang Trach to Pho Noi, includes 4 component projects: Quang Trach - Quynh Luu, Quynh Luu - Thanh Hoa, Thanh Hoa - Nam Dinh I Thermal Power Plant, Nam Dinh I - Pho Noi Thermal Power Plant; with a total length of about 519km, passing through 9 provinces (including 4 towns and 39 districts). With the drastic direction by the Prime Minister and the drastic participation by local authorities, up to now, on the entire route, 1,118/1,180 (reaching 95%) post foundation positions and 179/502 (reaching 36%) anchorage spaces have been handed over.

Currently, contractors have completed foundation casting for 87 positions; temporary road construction and foundation construction are underway at 752 locations; completed installation of 1 steel post and 6 posts are being installed.

At the meeting, the contractors reported the status of implementing the bidding packages, pledging to make maximum efforts and concentrate resources to complete the work items according to the schedule requested by the investor. 

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman Dang Hoang An emphasized that this is a key, urgent energy project with very important significance to strengthen the capacity of the 500kV transmission grid from the North to the Central, contributing to ensuring power supply for the North. The project received the attention and drastic direction of the Government, the Prime Minister, and the participation of the entire political system.

According to the Prime Minister's direction, the entire line must be energized in June 2024. The Chairman of EVN's Board of Directors requested contractors to prioritize, devote all resources to the project, and increase human resources and equipment to urgently deploy immediately at locations that have been handed over. Consulting and design units need to further promote their roles and speed up the construction progress of work items. Contractors supplying materials and equipment such as steel poles, conductors, insulated accessories, fiber optic cables, etc., need to speed up production progress, ensuring quality and progress as committed. EVN’s leaders require contractors to jointly make greater efforts and determination to work with the investor to complete the project following the Prime Minister's direction.
