EVNHANOI implements nearly 40 projects to rehabilitate and upgrade the power grid

Recently, member units under Hanoi Power Corporation (EVNHANOI) have implemented a total of nearly 40 projects to rehabilitate and upgrade the power grid to ensure a safe, stable, and uninterrupted electricity supply for the 2024 dry season, and create momentum to complete the 2024 production and business plan.

Specifically, projects those have been implemented right in the early Giap Thin spring include: the groundbreaking of 110kV substations and power lines as planned; rehabilitating and upgrading low voltage backbone lines, periodically replacing meters; Strengthening the overhaul and cleaning of substations and power lines, replacing number plates of routes, poles, safety signs on substation and power line routes; renovating and periodically testing equipment, etc.

The implementation of all the projects has been closely collaborated by the member units, including the preparation of materials, human resources, and plans to ensure safe construction, meeting technical requirements, and the set forth schedules.

EVNHANOI also focuses on starting construction and putting into operation key projects as assigned by Vietnam Electricity (EVN), speeding up the implementation progress of investment procedures for urgent power projects in preparation for the upcoming summer such as the construction of Tay Mo 110kV substation and connection line, Phuc Tho 2 110kV substation and connection line; renovating and increasing the load capacity and wire stringing of circuit 2 from Thuong Tin 110kV substation to Mai Dong-Ha Dong 110kV transmission line; construction of new 110kV feeders from Van Dien 220/110kV substation, etc.

In 2024, given the forecasted complicated weather situation, likely prolonged heat is expected which can cause extreme grid overloads in the summer, EVNHANOI has built up a dry season power supply scenario, at the same time, they are reviewing, updating, analyzing, and assessing load data for each area, thereby coming up with highly practical load forecasts; taking into account the probably most extreme incidents on the power grid to formulate a timely and suitable response plan.

In addition, EVNHANOI recommends that buildings, offices, production facilities, and people pay further attention to using electricity safely, economically, and effectively to minimize the risk of local overload of the power grid.
