EVN win 1 first prize and 2 third prizes at the 3rd Initiative for the Community competition

"The 3rd Initiative for the Community" Competition Award Ceremony was jointly organized by Communist Magazine, Ministry of Science and Technology, Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and Vietnam Electricity (EVN) on 26 December, 2020 in Hanoi. EVN has 03 initiatives to be honored, including 1 first prize and 2 third prizes.

Mr. Duong Quang Thanh, Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of EVN’s Member Council (EVN) attended and awarded.

Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc.Prof.Dr.Huynh Thanh Dat - Minister of Science and Technology Ministry said that the "Initiative for the community" program is held every 2 years, with the goal of finding creative initiatives, ideas, projects, to contribute to solving common problems of society.

On the side of EVN, Mr. Trinh Mai Phuong - Head of the EVN Communications Department, said that EVN always cares and dedicates resources to performing social security activities, for the community. EVN wants to find out excellent ideas, creative and practical ideas for the community.

In this competition, the “Research to build automatic system of smart distribution power grid in Da Nang city' initiative of the authors group of Da Nang Power One Member Company Limited is one of the two excellent initiatives won first prize. At the award ceremony, on behalf of the first prize winners, Mr. Le Van Phu shared: The main goal of the initiative is aimed to improve the efficiency of the distribution power grid operation according to the roadmap of building smart grid into Da Nang city. Before this initiative has not been applied, when there is a problem on the power grid, customers usually have to wait 30-45 minutes for the Power sector to restore power supply, but when this initiative is put into practice re-energization time is only 22 seconds. Mr. Le Van Phu expressed his wish to share and replicate this initiative to all units of the power industry.

Along with the first prize, Da Nang Power One Member Company Limited also had a third prize (the "Applying SCADA system to optimize the management of power grid operation on geographic map" initiative). At the same time, Hung Yen Power Company won 1 third prize with the "Improving the quality of customer care using electricity in the Hung Yen province" initiative.

According to the Organizing Committee, "The 3rd Initiative for the Community" Competition was launched from August, 2019. After more than 1 year of launching, it has received more than 400 applications to participate in comments. The organizers have selected 20 dossiers and projects to praise, including 2 first prizes; 3 Second prizes; 5 Third prizes and 10 Consolation prizes.

On this occasion, the organizer also launched "the fourth Initiative for the Community" competition, the period of 2021 - 2022.
