EVNCPC deploys electricity bill payment via Mobile Money

​​​​​​​From December 2021, the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) has officially cooperated with the Communications Corporation (VNPT - Media) and the Viettel Digital Services Corporation (Viettel Digital) in paying electricity bills via telecommunications electronic wallet (Mobile Money). Thereby, EVNCPC and its units provide customers with a convenient, safe and simple payment channel in non-cash form; in line with the Government's direction on building a digital nation.

To use the Mobile Money service, VinaPhone and Viettel subscribers only need to register for the service to be able to pay electricity bills even on popular mobile phones (not smartphones) thanks to Mobile Money's feature of no internet connection and no bank account required.

Le Thi Phuong Cam - Deputy General Director of EVNCPC said that, currently, in 13 provinces and cities in the Central Highlands - Central Highlands, there are about 730 thousand customers facing difficulty in accessing non-cash payment channels because customers do not have bank accounts, do not use smartphones, live far away from collection/intermediary payment points, etc. Therefore, the Mobile Money service is aimed at customers in rural areas, mountainous areas, islands, etc., places where Internet services are not yet accessible.

EVNCPC is one of the first units in EVN to cooperate with partners to deploy electricity payment via Mobile Money. The application of Mobile-Money in the electricity payment channel helps EVNCPC to diversify more payment methods for customers.

Currently, to develop non-cash payment, EVNCPC has applied payment channels such as Website https://cskh.cpc.vn; EVNCPC Customer Service application (on IOs and Android); automatic debit deduction through the bank; payment via Internet banking/Mobile banking; payment via the National Public Service Portal; e-wallets, and so on.

Thanks to its efforts in diversifying payment channels, now EVNCPC has more than 75% of customers making payments in non-cash form (up 13.54% compared to that of the same period in 2020), the percentage of non-cash payments was 91.72% (up 4.17% % compared to that of the same period).

In the coming time, EVNCPC will actively coordinate with telecommunications businesses (Viettel, Vinaphone, etc.) to bring Mobile Money to customers in this field with the long-term goal of reaching over 95% of non-cash payment customers by 2025.
