In details, the electricity generation output in the first 6 months of 2020 of EVNGENCO 1 reached 20,494 million kWh, equal to 53.4% of the plan of the year assigned by EVN and 105% compared to the same period in 2019. Power plants have been operating with high reliability and availability rate reaching the target assigned by EVN, namely: hydropower reached 97.78%; thermal power reached 93.92%. Power plants have effectively participated in the electricity market and well controlled their input costs.
The domestic coal supply in the first 6 months of 2020 met the requirements stated in the signed contracts. The amount of coal stored in the warehouses basically meets electricity generation needs in the third quarter of 2020. It is expected that in the fourth quarter of 2020, EVNGENCO 1 will sign coal supply contracts for 2021 with Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group and Dong Bac Corporation.

Gathering all efforts, striving to exceed the 2020 plan
According to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of EVNGENCO 1 Nguyen Tien Khoa, the crucial tasks in the last 6 months of 2020 of the Corporation are still very weighty, requiring the Corporation's employees to put the best effort and focus all resources in order to accomplish and exceed production - business and investment – construction targets in 2020, comprehensively completing the 2016 - 2020 five-year planned targets assigned by the Group.
Specifically, the hydropower plants should consider hydrological situation, load demand, operation status of the electricity market and capacity of each power unit in order to realize the 2020 production plan assigned by EVN. The hydropower plants should actively work with the local authorities, operate the water discharge through electricity generation according to the inter-reservoir operation procedure, as well as based on the actual water needs of the province to secure the use of water resource in an economical, effective and saving manner. The thermal power plants should make sure that their power units will operate stably and reliably to meet the system requirements; ensuring sufficient coal supply for electricity generation.
In addition, the member units should continue to perform well investment - construction, overhaul activities on schedule and with quality in accordance with targets approved by EVN; keep on equitizing enterprises in line with the schedule; improve corporate governance, apply science and technology achievements to reduce costs and improve labor productivity, etc.
Regarding the issue of foreign experts who need to be present in Vietnam to participate in overhaul of power units according to the plan, the Corporation's leaders require relevant departments and member units to promptly sum up the number and nationalities of experts to report to the competent authorities for consideration and specific mechanism for these experts to enter Vietnam.
