The signing ceremony took place within the framework of the Forum on cooperation between Austria and Vietnam in the field of infrastructure and technology, with the witness of Mr. Alexander Schallenberg - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Austria, Mr. Hans-Peter Glanzer – Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to Vietnam, Mr. Nguyen Van Sinh - Deputy Minister of Construction, Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh - Vice President of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI).
Representatives of EVNGENCO 2 attending the signing ceremony were Mr. Tran Phu Thai - Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Mr. Truong Hoang Vu - General Director. On the side of ANDRITZ, there was Mr. Schwab Alexander – Senior Vice President of ANDRITZ Group and leaders of ANDRITZ Vietnam.
According to the Memorandum of Understanding, ANDRITZ will support EVNGENCO 2 to complete infrastructure and get ready for digital transformation, in order to enhance the electricity generation reliability, improve efficiency, reduce losses, save operation and investment costs, and improve the generation performance of power plants.

EVNGENCO 2 is currently owning, directly managing and operating many thermal and hydropower plants nationwide, with a total installed capacity of 4,461 MW (as of April 2023). With vision, perception and determination in digital transformation, over the past time, the Corporation has established a Steering Committee for Digital Transformation and Application of the 4th Industrial Revolution’s advanced technologies; studying appropriate solutions to apply advanced technologies to production and business activities.

The Memorandum of Understanding between EVNGENCO 2 and ANDRITZ is expected to promote and contribute to accelerating progress and improving the efficiency of digital transformation, especially in the operation and maintenance of power plants of Power Generation Corporation 2 and its member units, so that the Corporation will be able to accomplish its goal of becoming a digital enterprise by 2025 according to the orientation of Vietnam Electricity.
