EVNGENCO1 - Hall Chadwick Melbourne: Sharing experiences in green energy development

Via working sessions, both sides wish to expand the exchange of experiences between the two sides in the energy transition process as well as develop various types of green energy, especially cooperation opportunities in the field of finance.

Recently, in Hanoi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Power Generation Corporation 1 (EVNGENCO1) Nguyen Tien Khoa chaired a reception and working session with the delegation of Hall Chadwick Melbourne Group (Australia) led by Mr. Ted Baillieu AO (formerly Premier of Victoria state, Australia). The two sides discussed potential future cooperation opportunities.

Participating in the delegation of Hall Chadwick Melbourne Group were Mr. Simon Reed, Project Director of Robert LuxMoore; Mr. Michael Hannibal, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CiP); Mr. Mark Garkaw, Project Director of L39 Capital 5; Mr. Peter Rubinstein - Project Director of L39 Capital.

Talking with the leader of EVNGENCO1, Mr. Ted Baillieu AO said that he and the delegation members have been involved in energy transition projects in the state of Victoria (Australia) for a long time and are willing to share and exchange this experience with international partners, aiming at carbon neutrality and greenhouse gas emission reduction.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Khoa, Chairman of the Board of Directors and members of EVNGENCO1 introduced the scale and potential of the Corporation. Accordingly, EVNGENCO1 is planning to invest in a number of renewable energy projects, LNG thermal power plants, and expand existing hydropower plants according to the National Power Development Plan during the period 2021 - 2030, vision to 2050 (PDP 8) issued in Decision No. 500/QD-TTg dated May 15, 2023, of the Prime Minister.

After listening to the introduction of EVNGENCO1 leadership, delegation members of Hall Chadwick Melbourne Group highly appreciated the potential and opportunities for cooperation between the parties, especially in the financial sector. Therefore, the delegation hopes to expand the exchange of experience between the two sides in the energy transition process as well as the development of various types of green energy, especially cooperation opportunities in the financial sector, related to restructuring a number of existing foreign loans and investing in new projects in the future.

At the end of the meeting, the two sides signed minutes of the meeting whereby both sides agreed to provide information for future cooperation activities.
