Funding for the COVID-19 prevention and control is both the kindheartedness and the obligation of each staff as well as employee of EVNNPT. With a sense of responsibility to join hands with the Government, ministries and in the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic, EVNNPT has called on all EVNNPT staffs and employees to make a contribution to the Fund.

Speaking at the reception, Mr. Do Van Chien, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front affirmed: "The timely and practical contributions of EVN and its member units, including the National Power Transmission Corporation, have clearly demonstrated the pioneering role and responsibility of a large enterprise, joining hands with the State in performing socio-political tasks for the community, especially the implementation of the Party and the Government's policy on purchasing vaccine doses for the people of the country, contributing to repelling the COVID-19 pandemic.".

The Ministry of Health calculates that Vietnam needs to buy 150 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine for 75 million people. Total cost is about VND 25,200 billion.

The Government's COVID-19 vaccine fund was established to mobilize the contributions by people and businesses to purchase, import, research and  produce vaccines domestically and use them for COVID-19 prevention.
