EVN’s General Director Tran Dinh Nhan inspected the construction sites of O Mon III and O Mon IV thermal power plants

On July 11, General Director of Vietnam Electricity (EVN) - Mr. Tran Dinh Nhan and a delegation of EVN inspected the construction sites of O Mon III and O Mon IV Thermal Power Plant Projects, located in Phuoc Thoi ward, O Mon district, Can Tho city.

Power Project Management Board No.3 (EVNPMB 3) has been assigned by EVN to manage and implement these two projects.

According to the plan, the O Mon IV Thermal Power Plant Project will commence construction in 2023. Up to now, EVNPMB 3 has issued the request for proposals for the EPC package and is expected to do the bid evaluation in the fourth quarter of 2022.

O Mon III Thermal Power Plant Project has a capacity of 1,050MW with a total preliminary investment cost estimate of about VND 25,000 billion, and O Mon IV Thermal Power Plant Project has a capacity of 1,050MW with a total preliminary investment cost estimate of about VND 29,000 billion. These power projects will use natural gas, located in O Mon Power Complex (Can Tho City), where site areas have been arranged for project construction. Both projects are important in ensuring the South's power supply in the coming years.
