EVN’s advices on energy conservation when scorching hot weather lasts longer and widespread in the North and the Centre

According to the National Center for Hydro – Meteorological Forecasting, from June  1 -4, 2017, scorching hot weather will be increasingly severe in terms of both heat level and impact sphere, particularly the temperature may reach 39 – 40 degree Celsius in some areas

The scorching and prolonged hot weather normally leads to an abrupt upsurge of electricity consumption demand, mainly caused by massive use of air conditioners and cooling equipment, consequently full load or overload situations are likely to occur in some locations, which may affect safety and stability of the power system operation. Therefore, EVN recommends that offices, companies, agencies and all the people should consume electricity in the most economical and efficient manner, especially when scorching hot weather lasts longer. In particular, when using air conditioners, temperature should be set in the optimal mode, from 26 degree Celsius and above, in order to both save electricity for the sake of customers and mitigate local overload hazards of the power grid, at the same time avoid an unexpectedly sudden increase of electricity bill.
