EVN's mission working with Ha Giang province on power projects

On October 11, in Ha Giang, the delegation of Vietnam Electricity (EVN) and two member units, Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC), and National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), had a meeting with the People's Committee of Ha Giang Province on the situation of power supply and investment and construction of power works in the province.

The whole province of Ha Giang has 3 industrial parks with a total area of 632ha, of which 2 new industrial zones were established in Bac Quang and Vi Xuyen districts; 16 industrial clusters (IC’s) with a total area of 482ha, of which 11 new IC’s established with a total area of about 307ha. It is expected that by 2025, the load capacity will reach 160MW (an average growth of 5.4%/year), and the commercial power output of 515.9 million kWh (an average growth of 4.96%/year).

Regarding the situation of construction investment in 110 - 220kV electric power works in Ha Giang province, EVN, and two member units are implementing the investment in building many grid projects such as Luu Xa 220kV line - Tuyen Quang - Phu Binh branching and raising the load capacity of Ha Giang - Bac Me - Thai Nguyen, Thai Nguyen - Luu Xa - Phu Binh 220kV lines (Commencement expected in March 2025 and energized in December 2025), Investing 5 110kV power grid projects in the province with a total of VND 396.5 billion (of which 2 projects have been completed and 3 projects are being implemented).

Regarding medium and low-voltage grids, in the period of 2021-2025, EVNNPC plans to invest about VND 483 billion in the province, of which, in 2021-2023, 39 projects have been implemented; In 2024, 8 projects were assigned.

EVN suggested that the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee of Ha Giang Province continue strengthening support and coordinating closely with EVN's units in the construction of power works; directing departments, agencies, and branches to promote the removal of obstacles on site clearance and land use planning.

The permanent Vice Chairman of Ha Giang Provincial People's Committee thanked Vietnam Electricity and its member units in recent years have always being interested and invested in developing power systems in the region to contribute to ensuring national defense-security, and socio-economic development in the province. For the recommendations of EVN and units, Ha Giang province is committed to closely coordinating with the power industry to implement projects in accordance with the Power Plan VIII approved by the Prime Minister as well as implementing target programs in the province.
