Ensuring target of water storing for power supply in dry season of 2019

In December 2018, the power system will optimally exploit  hydropower and thermopower resources at the same time to ensure sufficient power for socio-economic development, national defense, security and people’s life; ensuring the target of water storing at the end of 2018, serving power supply in dry season of 2019.

Viet Nam Electricity requires power plants to improve their availability, promptly complete repairs as planned; prepare adequate fuel, materials, equipment, human resources to be ready to meet the mobilization requirements of A0.

Additionally, EVN also requires its affiliated units to safely and reliably operate the transmission power grid, particularly the North-South 500kV system in condition of high demand on power transmission to the South.

Moreover, the units should also be ready for providing options of disaster prevention, search and rescue, ensuring safety for dams, reservoirs, hydropower works and downstream areas.

As expected, the average power output of the whole system in December 2018 will be 609 million kWh/day; maximum load capacity will be 32,940MW.

In November 2018, EVN exploited hydropower and thermopower at the same time, ensuring the bond on water supply requirement for downstream area.

The power output of the whole system reached 18.46 billion kWh (average of 615.2 million kWh/day).

Particularly, the highest daily output reached 648.2 million kWh; the highest capacity reached nearly 32,588MW.

The Group ensures a stable supply of power, adequately meets the demand on power for socio-cultural, production and business activities of people in localities.
