Delegation of GE Digital and GE Hydro working at Power Generation Corporation 2
Implementing the content of the MoU dated 13 December 2022 between EVNGENCO 2 and GE, from 20 February 2023 GE came to survey and determine suitable solutions at Thac Mo and A Vuong hydropower plants and Hai Phong Thermal Power Plant. During the meeting at EVNGENCO2 headquarters, GE introduced the Asset Performance Management solution - APM and the Boiler Optimization Solution - BoilerOpt; evaluated the beneficial value of the solution for each plant.
In particular, Asset Performance Management – APM solution helps reduce planned and unplanned maintenance costs, increase availability and reliability, extend the life of hydropower equipment, and increase revenue for hydropower plants. Boiler Optimization Solution – BoilerOpt makes the unit operating range more flexible and available when the market demands it while minimizing emissions, downtime, and maintenance costs for thermal power plants.

Mr. Tran Phu Thai suggested that in the coming time, GE will continue to support EVNGENCO 2 to find solutions to help modernize governance, digital transformation, and green transformation; organize thematic training courses, focusing on operation optimization and equipment performance management of power plants; organize in-person visits to power plants applied GE's digital transformation solutions.
The Chairman of EVNGENCO 2’s Board of Directors assigned the specialized committees and member units of EVNGENCO 2 to work closely with GE to complete the report on evaluating the effectiveness of solutions; Thac Mo Hydropower Joint Stock Company research and pilot APM solutions; A Vuong Hydropower Joint Stock Company research and deploy the APM - Reliability module; Hai Phong, Pha Lai Thermal Power Joint Stock Company actively work with GE to evaluate the effectiveness of GE's Boiler Optimization solution; specialized committees and digital transformation working groups to research and evaluate GE's digital solutions to advise and propose the Digital Transformation Steering Committee to consider and apply them throughout EVNGENCO 2.
