The "Perfect the people-founded lighting system" program aims to perfect 20% of the people-founded lighting systems in the city following the direction of LED lights using and renovating alley lights to street lights.
EVNHCMC continues to coordinate with mass organizations to maintain power-saving programs that have been successfully implemented over the years such as Earth Hour Campaign; implementing the projects "Civilized, clean, safe and beautiful apartment building", "Safely and economically using electricity together", "A safe, beautiful and economical electricity system alley", "A safe, civilized, economical light source for social security”; “Installing rooftop solar power system”, “Joining hands to build Thu Duc new city”, etc.
Mr. Bui Trung Kien - Deputy General Director of EVNHCMC said that in addition to the above-mentioned key programs, EVNHCMC also focuses on raising the awareness of customers in managing electricity demand and economically, effectively using electricity, step by step moving from traditional to smart electricity customers. Along with the efforts of the Power sector, EVNHCMC wishes to receive the response and coordination of the majority of customers in the city in joining hands to save electricity, contributing to ensuring energy security and environmental protection.
In 2021, EVNHCMC saved 583.89 million kWh, accounting for 2.26% of commercial electricity output; contributing to reducing nearly 440,000 tons of CO2 emissions into the environment.
