Typical works in coordination between EVN and local authorities
The Project of Lao Bao 220kV substation and the Dong Ha - Lao Bao 220kV transmission line were assigned, by EVN, to EVNNPT as the investor, and CPMB shall on behalf of EVNNPT to manage and operate the project. This is an urgent power project to transmit full capacity at wind power plants in the west of Quang Tri province and small hydropower plants in the region to the national power system, ensuring safe and reliable power supply to the provinces in the Central region (provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue).
The project of Dong Ha - Lao Bao 220kV line is designed with a scale of new construction of a dual-circuit 220kV line of about 47.3km long with 124 pole positions, passing through the districts of Trieu Phong, Cam Lo, Da Krong, Huong Hoa of Quang Tri province. The project was commenced on 19 June 2019 and completed on 1 October 2021.
The Lao Bao 220kV substation (Tan Hop commune, Huong Hoa district) consists of building a new 220/110/22kV substation with 2 transformers, the capacity of 500MVA and expansion of 02 220kV feeders at the Dong Ha 220kV substation. The project was completed and energized on 13 September 2021.

EVN’s General Director Tran Dinh Nhan assessed this as exemplary work in the coordination among EVN and local authorities in compensation for site clearance and construction tasks. The project of 220kV dual-circuit substation and transmission line with large scale, investment capital of VND 876 billion has been completed by EVNNPT in just over a year and a half.
The completion of the project will help release the full capacity of the wind power source in the west of Quang Tri province, thereby affirming EVN’s fulfilling its commitments to the leaders of Quang Tri province.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Quang Tri PPC - Mr. Vo Van Hung said that the potential of wind power in Quang Tri province is still very large and it is necessary to invest in a project of 500kV transmission line and a 500kV substation. Quang Tri province is determined to accompany businesses to remove obstacles and difficulties as well as create the best conditions for projects to be completed on schedule. Quang Tri province commits to closely coordinate with EVN/EVNNPT to properly complete the contents as agreed by and between the two parties.

The Chairman of Quang Tri PPC also requested departments, agencies and local People's Committees to better support EVN’s units and wind power investment enterprises in compensation and site clearance work. It is targeted that energy projects are implemented in the most favorable way, in the shortest time, finalizing the goals of the province and investors on energy development in the locality.
