Unit H5 of Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant has been put into operation since 1992 until now. Through inspection, the runner discovered defects that cause the unit to operate in a high-risk mode.
According to Mr. Phan Dinh Hoa - Director of EVNPSC, the work of unit H5 runner replacement has an important meaning, in order to ensure long-term safe and reliable operation for the unit. This is also the first time that EVN has replaced and installed a runner by itself, which is an important milestone demonstrating EVN's autonomy in repair and maintenance work for the renovation of large hydropower units.
This work was assigned by EVN to EVNPSC to perform procurement tenders and self-construction, installation, testing, and commissioning. Hoa Binh Hydropower Company consults, supervises, installs, and receives operation management. According to the schedule, the work will be completed before 30 May 2023.
