On the side of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province were Vice Chairman of Ho Quang Buu; leaders of relevant departments and agencies.
On EVN's side, there were President and CEO Nguyen Anh Tuan, Member of EVN's Board of Directors Nguyen Duc Cuong, Vice President Nguyen Tai Anh, Chairman of Vietnam Electricity Trade Union Do Duc Hung, leaders of EVN professional departments, and leaders of Power Project Management Board No.2, the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), and the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC).
Monsoon - Thanh My 500kV transmission line project in the territory of Vietnam is owned by EVN, Power Project Management Board No.2 (EVNPMB2) has been assigned to manage and implement the project. The scale of the transmission line is more than 44km long, passing through 4 communes (La Dee, Cha Val, Ta Po, and Ta Binh) in Nam Giang district, Quang Nam province, with 90 foundation positions and 26 anchorage distances. To date, with the support of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province and relevant departments, agencies, and local authorities, 34/90 locations have been handed over, which are sections outside natural forests (the total locations outside natural forests is 35). Regarding the right-of-way, the site handover is expected to be completed in March 2024 according to the direction of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province.
Currently, contractors have excavated foundations in 27/90 locations, casted foundations in 24/90 locations; completed the erection of 5/90 tower locations; and completed the construction of 58/90 temporary roads, including 24/46 routes in natural forests and 34/44 routes outside natural forests.
The project of expanding the compartment of and rehabilitating Thanh My 500kV substation (Ta B‘Hing commune, Nam Giang district, Quang Nam province) is owned by EVNNPT. Currently, contractors are peeling off vegetation layers of the substation's foundation, leveling the site, and constructing a number of concrete retaining walls and stone prisms; constructing to recover the existing lines, etc.
EVNNPT is determined to complete the project in July 2024.
Reporting to the mission, Power Project Management Board 2 and EVNNPT urged contractors to enhance personnel, materials, equipment, etc. to accelerate the project's progress.
EVN’s President and CEO requested Power Project Management Board No.2 and EVNNPT to coordinate closely with local authorities and relevant units to resolve outstanding difficulties and problems; requiring contractors to arrange adequate human resources, equipment, materials, work overtime, and expedite construction when site is available, accelerate the project implementation progress to put into operation as planned.
These are projects of significant indication under the Energy Cooperation Agreement between the Governments of Vietnam and Laos, to import electricity from Laos to the Vietnamese power system in general and Quang Nam province in particular.
