The rooftop solar PV system at the headquarters of Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation
In particular, Hanoi Power Corporation installed 52kWp; the Central Power Corporation 352kWp; the Southern Power Corporation 1,985kWp and Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation 855kWp.
According to reports of these corporations, as most of the systems have been recently completed and put into use from April 2018 to September 2018, the total generation output by the end of July 2018 was about 1.1 million kWh, bringing a benefit value of about VND 3.1 billion.
It is known that the total rooftop solar PV potential at headquarters and buildings in the member organizations under EVN is 56.4MWp. At present, EVN has instructed its subsidiaries to keep on installing rooftop solar PV systems in order to both contribute to relieving pressure on the power grid, and as a model to improve communication effectiveness and encourage people and businesses across the country to use solar energy.
According to the World Bank's research on solar power generation capacity, in the South (Ho Chi Minh City and Southern provinces), the electricity output of 1kWp is about 1,350-1,450kWh per year; only in Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan provinces it can reach 1,550kW per year. This number in other central provinces is about 1,300kWh per year. The benefit value (calculated on the electricity cost of these buildings) is from VND 3.6 - 3.9 million/year/kWp.
