The project has designed capacity of 49 MW and is located in Ia Toi commune, Ia H’Drai district, Kon Tum province (in the downstream of the right dam of the operating Se San 4 hydropower plant).
This project is classified as B-group, will be invested and later on operated by Vietnam Electricity, which is anticipated to be the largest solar farm in the Central Highlands (the entire project will cover nearly 80 ha land area).
The project will apply SPV technology (solar photovoltaic system) which uses solar panels to absorb and convert the sun’s radiation into electricity. Solar modules use crystalline silicon material, with dimension of 4 m x 10 m, and capacity of 300 W per each.
According to the schedule, the project will start construction by the beginning of 2018 and will be integrated into the national grid by the end of 2018. This investment project will help add a clean energy resource to the existing generation mix and be a revenue contribution to the national and local budget.
