Between the 1st and the 2nd of March, 2017, EVN’s delegation headed by the Chairman of Board of Members Mr. Duong Quang Thanh, President and CEO Mr. Dang Hoang An had meetings with leaders of local authorities of Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue and Da nang provinces on coordination activities in executing the third circuit of Vung Ang - Doc Soi - Pleiku 2 500 kV transmission line.
This is a fast track project aiming at enhancing transmission capacity of the North – South 500 kV transmission system, undertaking electricity supply and energy security for the South. The National Power Transmission Corporation has been assigned by EVN to be the project owner, and the Central Project Management Board being assigned as the project management organization.
The project is anticipated to start construction in September 2017 and to be put into operation in the first quarter of 2019.

Vung Ang – Doc Soi – Pleiku 2 500 kV transmission line project is composed of 3 components, including Quang Trach – Doc Soi 500 kV transmission line, 485 km long, passing Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngãi provinces. The total investment cost of this component project is around VND 6,418 billion.
Exactly, in Quang Tri province, transmission line section is 83.06 km long; the land area to be acquired for foundation construction is projected at 11.95 ha, the affected area of buffer corridors is 265.8 ha. The line section passing through Thua Thien Hue is 112.46 km long; the total number of electric pole locations is projected at 235 ones, the land area acquired for foundations is 20.44 ha, the affected area of buffer corridors is 359.86 ha. The line section passing through Da Nang city is 30.72 km long; the estimated land area acquired for foundations is 5.22 ha, the affected area of buffer corridors is 98.3 ha.
Given the remarkably important role of this third circuit of 500 kV transmission line and the very urgent construction duration of only 18 months, the local authorities express their strong supports and highly concur that the best conditions will be provided to the project owner, particularly in site clearance and compensation activities, clear sites will be transferred early to meet the implementation schedule of the Project, as well as adequate land will be allocated for the Project.
In addition, the local authorities agrees that provincial land clearance and compensation steering committees should be established and led by Vice Chairmen of People’s Committees with the aim of timely addressing difficulties and obstacles during implementation.
