Duyen Hai 3 Thermal Power Plant which is invested and owned by Vietnam Electricity/ Power Generation Corporation No.1 is one of four power plants under Duyen Hai Power Complex. Previously, power unit no.1 and no.2 were synchronously integrated into the national power grid on September 15, 2016 and October 21, 2016, respectively.
At present, contractors are expediting their works to finish tests for obtaining PACs (provisional acceptance certificates) for power unit no.1 in February 2017 and unit no.2 in March 2017 in order to timely transfer to Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company for commercial operation. At the same time, the Project Owner has promised with the local authorities to coordinate with the contractors in protecting the environment.
After commercial operation, on average, Duyen Hai 3 Thermal Power Plant annually can generate around 7.8 billion kWh, contributing to electricity supply to the regional socio-economic development of Cuu Long river delta, relieving electricity amount to be transmitted from the North to the South, mitigating power loss, enhancing safety, stability and economic efficiency of power system operation.
