DHD is assigned to study a Solar photovoltaic project on the  reservoir of Da Mi hydropower plant

According to the Ministry of Trade and Industry, in pursuit of renewable energy development prioritization policy, Binh Thuan People’s Committee has granted a permit for Da Nhim – Ham Thuan – Da Mi Hydropower Joint Stock Company (DHD) to survey, research and invest in a floating solar photovoltaic project on Da Mi reservoir in the province.

The floating solar photovoltaic plant has capacity size of 47.5 MWp, with the total investment cost estimated at around more than VND 1,500 billion, scheduled to be put into operation in 2019, the average projected electricity output of more than 69 million kWh in the first year of operation.

This is an independent generation project which has not yet included in the list of power generation projects in the National Power Development Master Plan during 2011-2020 with vision to 2030. Therefore, Binh Thuan People’s Committee has proposed that the General Directorate of Energy under Ministry of Industry and Trade would appraise and approve a revised version of the Master Plan in compliance with the current regulations.

The floating solar photovoltaic project is located at La Ngau commune, Tanh Linh district; Da Mi, La Da communes, Ham Thuan Bac district, Binh Thuan province. The used land surface of the project is composed of approximately 57 ha of on- reservoir surface (for installing solar photovoltaic panels) and approximately 67 ha of on land surface (for constructing substation, inverters and transmission lines, etc.).
