The power sales all over the country in the first month of 2017 have reached 13 billion kWh

According to the Business Department of EVN, in January 2017, the power sales of the entire EVN Group grew 7.02% against the same period last year.

The North of Vietnam experienced the highest growth rate which was 10.78%. The Centre and the South grew at lower levels, specifically: the power sales in the South grew 4.75%, and in the Central only 3.8%.

From perspectives of load categories, the electricity amount consumed by industry accounted for 55.5% of the total loads, increased by 7.5% against the same period last year. The Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC) has kept having the highest growth rate (13.6%) because there were a lot of industrial customers in their service areas.

Electricity amount consumed by management and consumer customers represented 32.1%, increased by 5.36% over the same period last year. The growth rate of the Southern region was the lowest, only 2.83%, since the weather in January was still rainy out of season, not transited into the dry, hot and sunshine season yet.

The Business Department of EVN said that in January 2017, electricity amount supplied to agricultural sector accounted for 2.7%, growing by up to 21.95%. Of which the Northern region has the highest growth rate since much water was utilized for irrigations to prepare for the Spring harvest in 2017. In addition, electricity supplied to the trading sector, hotels – restaurants represented 5.3%, and other customer categories 4.4%.

In particular, this January, EVN and their subsidiaries secured safe, stable, uninterrupted electricity supply to serve for the people all over the country celebrating the Lunar New Year festival. The distribution grid was operating in a stable manner, free of faults, and efficiently served for Spring celebrating activities countrywide.
