More than 700 km long Vung Ang - Doc Soi - Pleiku 2 500 kV transmission line passing through 9 provinces: Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Kon Tum and Gia Lai. At present, CPMB has been accelerating necessary procedures in order to meet schedule milestones in pre-investment approval such as: Feasibility Study to be finalized in February, and expectedly approved in April; Technical design – Total investment cost estimation to be finalized in the second quarter so as to be approved in July; Construction commencement procedures to be finalized in the fourth quarter.
On January 16, 2017, the Prime Minister issued Document No. 47/TTg-CN for agreeing on revising and supplementing Master Plan VII regarding Vung Ang – Doc Soi – Pleiku 2 500 kV transmission lines, namely: Pushing forward the implementation schedule of Quang Trach - Vung Ang double circuit 500 kV transmission line to 2016 - 2020; Supplementing Quang Trach - Doc Soi double circuit 500 kV transmission line and Quang Trach 500 kV switchyard, to be operated during 2016 - 2020; Revising and replacing Doc Soi – Pleiku single circuit 500 kV transmission line with Doc Soi – Pleiku 2 double circuit 500 kV transmission line and pushing forward its implementation schedule from 2026 - 2030 to 2016 - 2020.
