Previously, the highest generation of wind power sources was recorded on February 5, 2022, with a total generating capacity of 3,077MW.

Although coming late, this year's Northeast wind has been exerting a strong impact on all wind power concentration areas such as the North Central, South Central, Central Highlands and Southwest, making wind power sources across the country simultaneously generate high output. The capacity is regularly maintained at 1,500 - 2,500MW and the average power output is approximately 50 million kWh/day, 140% higher than that of the same period in 2021.
However, EVNNLDC also said that the operation of wind power sources still faces many difficulties and challenges. Specifically, if the wind speed exceeds the equipment's operating limit, the turbines will have to stop working to ensure safety. The shortage of a large capacity due to the sudden shutdown of wind turbines will affect the security of the power supply if the forecasting and monitoring system of wind power operation is not properly invested in and cared for. In fact, on December 17, a number of wind power plants in Quang Tri area had to stop operating due to this very reason.
Currently, the meteorological data monitoring system for the operation of renewable energy sources developed by EVNNLDC has been highly effective in identifying and giving timely warnings.
