The Fujiwara Binh Dinh Solar and Wind Power Project is a 100% foreign investment project owned by Fujiwara Joint Stock Company, Japan. The project is located in the western side of Phuong Mai mountain in Nhon Hoi Economic Zone. Covering 60 hectares land area, the project has a total capacity of 100 MW and is expected to operate in 50 years.
According to the registered schedule, the project will be carried out from the second quarter of 2017 and come into operation in the first quarter of 2019 after completing the first phase (for solar energy plant with a capacity of 64 MW). The second phase of the project is expected for completion in the first quarter of 2020 with an additional 36 MW wind power plant.
The project aims to generate electricity from solar and wind energy. This is an especially preferential investment area of the Government of Vietnam. The project will create more than 100 permanent jobs for locals, help stabilize the local social security and contribute to the local budget, etc. In addition, the project will help beautify the landscape and attract tourists to the province.
This is the second Japanese FDI project in Nhon Hoi Economic Zone and the twelfth in Binh Dinh province, raising the total FDI capital from Japan to nearly USD 100 million.
