Power production of the whole system in August 2022 reached 23.9 billion kWh. The accumulated for 8 months reached 181.92 billion kWh, increasing by 5% over the same period, in which the ratio of mobilizing some types of power sources per total power production of the whole system is as follows:
+ Hydropower output reached 63.25 billion kWh, accounting for 34.8%.
+ Coal thermal power reached 71.67 billion kWh, accounting for 39.4%.
+ Gas turbines reached 19.67 billion kWh, accounting for 10.8%.
+ Renewable energy reached 24.95 billion kWh, accounting for 13.7% (of which solar power reached 18.82 billion kWh, wind power reached 5.84 billion kWh).
+ Imported power reached 1.91 billion kWh, accounting for 1%.
In the first 8 months of 2022, the power produced by EVN and Power Generation Corporations (including joint stock companies) reached 84.57 billion kWh, accounting for 46.49% of the power production of the whole system. Notably, due to the sudden increase in the price of input fuels for power production (such as coal, oil, gas) since the beginning of the year, EVN's power production costs have increased very high, leading to many financial difficulties.
Construction investment:
Regarding the power grid: In the first 8 months of 2022, EVN and its units have commenced 88 projects and completed energizing and putting into operation 65 power grid works from 110kV to 500kV (including 06 works of 500kV, 13 works of 220kV and 46 works of 110kV). In which, the Quang Trach - Vung Ang 500kV transmission line and the 500kV distribution yard of Quang Trach Power Center and the Chu Se 220kV substation have been energized, increasing the capacity of the Bim Son 220kV substation, increasing the capacity of the Do Luong 220kV substation, 110kV connection project after Chu Se 220kV substation, the 110kV transmission line to power Dai Duong Cement Plant 110kV substation.
Power source: The Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant expansion project has been allowed to be built again by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The site clearance of some key projects (Quang Trach Power Center Infrastructure project, Quang Trach 1 Thermal Power Plant, Shared Infrastructure project of Dung Quat 1, 2 and 3 combined cycle gas turbine power plants...) still face many difficulties and problems, but have not been resolved completely, and so on.
Business and customer service: By the end of August 2022, the rate of customers paying electricity bills in the non-cash form reached 90.72%; the rate of electricity bill payment in the non-cash form in EVN reached 97.32%.
Digital transformation: units throughout EVN have completed 86.5% of the plan to implement digital transformation in the two years of 2021-2022, in which there are a number of fields completed with a high rate such as internal management (98.98%), sales and customer service (97.56%), construction investment (94.8%).
Some objectives and tasks of EVN in September 2022
The expected average power consumption of the whole system in September 2022 is at 754.8 million kWh/day (increasing by 18.6% over the same period), the largest load capacity is estimated at 41,400 MW.
Objectives of electricity system operation in September 2022: Continue to ensure safe and continuous power production and supply, serving the country's socio-economic development and people's daily life. Regarding power source mobilization: Maximize the mobilization of hydropower plants that are having to discharge water (or are at risk of water discharge) at the request of the National Steering Committees for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and the local Steering Committees, and at the same time update the hydrological forecast to develop a suitable regulation plan; coal-fired power, gas turbine mobilized according to system demand and hydro-thermal power optimization solution; highly exploit coal-fired thermal power plants in the northern region to gradually accumulate water in hydropower reservoirs; oil-fired thermal power reserve.
Regarding construction investment: Continue to deal with obstacles in site clearance, focusing on the construction of key power source projects. Regarding the power grid: Concentrate human resources, materials and equipment to complete the projects: Lao Cai - Bao Thang 220kV lines, circuit 2, Bac Giang - Lang Son 220kV lines, Nam Mo - Tuong Duong 220kV transmission lines, Kien Binh - Phu Quoc 220kV transmission lines, and so on.
In September 2022, EVN continues to direct the Power Corporations/ companies to fully prepare human resources and facilities, strengthen the 24/7 response; proactively respond to natural disasters in the rainy and stormy season, ensure the safety of people, equipment, electrical works and ensure the safety of dams, hydropower plants, and downstream areas of reservoirs. At the same time, in order to reduce difficulties in operating the power system, Vietnam Electricity continues to advise people, offices and production establishments to pay due attention to safely and economically using power.
