In which, the total output of power plants 100% owned by EVN (excluding EVNGENCO3 and joint stock companies) reached 43.9 billion kWh, accounting for 30.8%.
Commercial power output of the whole EVN in July 2020 reached 19.53 billion kWh, an increase of 2.42% compared to that in July 2019. In the first 7 months of 2020, commercial power energy of the whole EVN reached 122.69 billion kWh, an increase of 2.3% compared to the same period in 2019. Residential energy consumption in July 2020 accounted for the proportion of 37%, a 6.14% increase over the same period, in which, the growth rate in the North increased by 9.35% due to prolonged hot weather, the central region did not gain a growth, the growth rate in the South is low at 3.54%. In the first 7 months of 2020, residential power energy grew by 6.39% over the same period in 2019.
From 27 to 29 July 2020, there had been 16 consecutive earthquakes with magnitudes from 2.6 to 5.3 of the Richter scale; but electricity projects managed by EVN in the area such as Son La, Lai Chau, Hoa Binh, Huoi Quang, and Ban Chat still ensure safety and normal and stable operation.
Regarding power transmission: In July 2020, the transmission power flow was mainly in the North-Central and Central–South directions. The highest transmission level on the North-Central transmission system was 1,860MW and on the Central-South one was 2,000MW. Power energy transmission in July 2020 reached 19.36 billion kWh. The accumulated power energy transmitted in 7 months of 2020 reached 119.55 billion kWh, an increase by 2% over the same period in 2019.
Regarding business and customer services: By the end of July 2020, the rate of receiving enquiries by electronic means for providing services by the whole EVN reached 65.6% (15.60% higher compared to the plan). The number of enquiries for electrical services through the National Public Service Portal accounted for 79.98% of the total number for public service provisions by ministries/sectors/localities on the Portal.
Rooftop solar power (RSP) installations: In the first 7 months of 2020, in the whole country 19,810 RSP projects had been installed with a total capacity of 541.66 MWp. As accumulated to date, 42,187 RSP projects had been put into operation with a total capacity of 925.8MWp. The total amount of energy fee paid to customers who installed RSP was VND374.2 billion. In order to continue promoting RSP development, Power Corporations publicized processes, procedures, capacity of power release of each transformer substation and create maximum conditions for RSP investors in signing power connection agreements, signing power purchase agreements.
Regarding construction investment, in July 2020, EVN instructed its units to make efforts, focus on implementing construction investment tasks, speeding up projects. In terms of power investment, commercial power generation of Phuoc Thai 1 Solar Power project was completed and the project was in the process of testing and acceptance. Regarding investment in power grid constructions, in 7 months, 81 projects had been commenced; 63 110-500kV grid projects had been completed and energized (including eight 500kV projects, seven 220kV projects, forty-eight 110kV projects).
Some objectives and tasks in August 2020
In July 2020, the daily average power consumption of the whole system is expected at 714 million kWh/day, the largest demand capacity is estimated at 37,510MW.
According to the National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting, in August 2020, in the North and North Central regions, there are likely to appear from 3-4 thunderstorms; The Central Highlands and the South are in the rainy season, so there will be many days with showers and thunderstorms. Therefore, the target operation of the power system in August 2020 is: To exploit hydropower plants for ensuring water supply requirements for downstream localities and limiting water levels of hydropower reservoirs according to the inter-reservoir operating process, high mobilization of hydroelectric plants in the North with good water inflow; exploiting maximum coal-fired and gas-fired thermal power sources in accordance with fuel supply capacity; improving availability of power plants. Power generation corporations and thermal power companies continue requiring coal supply units of TKV and Dong Bac (Northeastern) Corporation to ensure coal supply to meet the mobilization needs of the system. Safe and reliable operation of transmission grids, especially the North-South 500kV system shall be noticed. The units need to perform well the "dual" task, ensuring the implementation of prevention and fighting against the Covid-19 pandemic, while ensuring power supply for socio-economic development as well as the people's daily life; especially safe and stable power supply for field hospitals, establishments of isolation, medical examination and treatment of infected and suspected Covid-19 patients.
Construction investment: Continuing to concentrate forces on construction work, overcoming difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and on implementing key projects.
Equitization and divestment: Continuing to implement the equitization of EVNGENCO1 and EVNGENCO2 according to the approved schedule; implementing EVN's share auctioning procedures at Dong Anh Electrical Equipment Corporation (EEMC) and EVN Finance Joint Stock Company (EVNFinance) complying with regulations.
In addition, in August 2020, EVN will continue directing Power Corporations/Power Companies to prepare sufficient human resources and facilities, to increase direct response in 24/24 mode; proactively responding to natural disasters in the rainy season, ensuring safety for people, equipment, electrical works and ensuring safety of dams, hydroelectric plants, and reservoir downstream areas, etc.
