Pha Lai Thermal Power Company, formerly Pha Lai Thermal Power Plant, started construction on May 17, 1980, with a capacity of 440MW. At present, the total capacity of Pha Lai Thermal Power Company has reached 1,040MW, ensuring electricity supply for the Northern region and contributing to stabilizing the national power system.

With the primary goal of improve the reliability of the power units, with the highest availability factor, ready to meet the dispatching requirements of the national power system, not allowing subjective incidents to occur; ensuring the completion of the electricity output plan for each month and the entire dry season of 2024; production must ensure safety, fire and explosion prevention, especially meet occupational safety and hygiene (OSH) requirements in operating and repairing equipment, minimizing environmental pollution, etc. Thereby, Pha Lai Thermal Power Plant has proposed many synchronous, proactive, and flexible solutions in the implementation process.
Synchronizing solutions
In order to ensure the all-the-time availability of power units, ready to generate commercial electricity when required by the system during the peak months of the dry season, from the beginning of 2024, Pha Lai Thermal Power Company has synchronously deployed solutions such as: Reviewing available spare materials and equipment in warehouses; purchasing equipment for the dry season; maintaining coordination with Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin) and North East Coal Corporation, importing coal, safely loading and unloading coal, and increasing fuel inventory to a high level.

In addition, the Company always puts environmental work first, in which the dust filtration systems of line 1 have been repaired so that gas emissions into the environment are according to design criteria, meeting the environmental requirements of the authorities.

The auxiliary rate, heat consumption rate, response coefficient, readiness coefficient, etc. have basically met the requirements.

Specifically, the electricity output of the 02 lines as of August 13, 2024, is more than 3 billion kWh; the amount of coal stored in the warehouse is 204,647 tons; in addition, the amount of FO oil, chemicals, grinding balls, limestone, etc. that Pha Lai Thermal Power Company has purchased and stored ensure to serve the plant operation throughout 2024.
