Power Generation Corporation 3 achieves EDGE Global Gender Equality Certification

Power Generation Corporation 3 (EVNGENCO 3) officially achieved  EDGE’s Global Gender Equality Certification, ASSESS level awarded by EDGE Certified Foundation (Switzerland).

EVNGENCO 3 achieved the EDGE Global Gender Equality Certification

EVNGENCO 3 is one of two units under EVN that achieved this certification.

Achieving the EDGE Certification confirmed the regimes and policies of EVN in general and EVNGENCO 3 in particular towards the development of gender equality as well as the commitment of EVNGENCO 3 leaders in developing gender equality at EVNGENCO 3.

To achieve EDGE certification, EVNGENCO 3 went through the process of surveying more than 2,700 employees in the corporation, with a survey completion rate of more than 95%, policy evaluation and gender equality enforcement according to EDGE standards implemented by Intertek - an independent auditor of the US in Vietnam.

Through the process of surveying and evaluating data collected from EVNGENCO 3 as well as auditing of implementation documents, EVNGENCO 3 is recognized to achieve gender equality in human resources, effectively implement policies and practices in gender equality action.

In the assessed areas, notably, EVNGENCO 3 reached 83% on the gender equality scale of recruitment and promotion, 100% on corporate culture; Female officials account for over 20% of the total number of employees.

At the same time, over 80% of surveyed personnel (both men and women) said that they have a job opportunity (rate above 80%) and the same salary (rate over 90%). Besides, the auditing unit when performing audits at EVNGENCO 3 recognized and evaluated the efforts of EVNGENCO 3 in particular and EVN in general in gender equality work.

Participating in EDGE Certification, EVNGENCO 3 had the opportunity to review and re-evaluate policies, measure, and evaluate accurately their gender equality policies in recent years from which to plan better for implementation in the future. At the same time, to spread the results achieved and encourage other businesses to join in towards the goal of gender equality and women's empowerment in Vietnam.

To build a gender equality environment and develop women's empowerment, in EVN's Document No. 1886/EVN-TCNS dated 11 April 2019 on the gender equality plan in 2019, EVN assigned corporations (including EVNGENCO 3) in collaboration with Vietnam Business Association to support the development of women's empowerment (VBCWE) to conduct the EDGE global gender equality assessment.
