Power consumption skyrockets, EVNNPC calls for economical and efficient use of electricity

Severe heat in a large area has made power consumption in 27 northern provinces and cities continue to increase. On July 7 alone, power consumption was recorded at 319.95 million kWh, an increase of more than 9 million kWh compared to that in the previous peak (May 31). Information from Northern Power Corporation.

According to the Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC), the consumption recorded on July 7 is also the highest since the beginning of the year.

EVNNPC continues calling on customers to strengthen the implementation of economical and efficient electricity use. Hot sun and high temperatures will cause power consumption in daily life a surging increase due to the use of many cooling devices such as air conditioners. People should pay attention to the rational use of air conditioners (set at 26-27 degrees or more, used in combination with fans). Do not use many devices and electrical equipment with large capacities at the same time to avoid overloading the grid and at the same time prevent the risk of fire and explosion in the power grid, power stations, and residential areas.

Electricity users in 27 northern provinces should install the EVNNPC CSKH App on their mobile phones to help monitor their daily electricity usage, and proactively adjust their electricity usage habits to save electricity.

In the coming days, the heat will continue with the temperature ranging from 37 to 39 degrees Celsius. The demand for power in the following days will continue to increase.

EVNNPC has directed its member power companies to strengthen the force taking duty, actively monitor the warnings on the control system to deal with the overloading and phase-out of the substations; at the same time, requested the Customer Care Center to work overtime to promptly receive feedback on electrical failures.
