Mr. Nguyen Duc Cuong - Director of the National Load Dispatch Center (A0):
Properly implementing operation of power system and electricity market
Taking the dominant role in the operation of power system and electricity market, A0 strives to properly undertaking the task of regulating the national power system.
Particularly, A0 will calculate and develop a reasonable operation and regulation method, contributing to improve economic efficiency of the Power system, reducing the cost of purchasing electricity from EVN. At the same time, A0 will develop a monthly plan for power supply based on the development of weather, hydrology, gas supply capacity and the situation of electricity market operation, thereby safely and reliably operating the Power system, effectively exploiting power sources and preparing options to deal with unusual situations.
Particularly, in order to operate the competitive electricity wholesale market, A0 calculated to assign power output to power corporations, simulated the wholesale market in line with regulations, ensuring fairness and transparency between participating parties.
In particular, A0 will calculate, plan for electricity market operation, set up mobilization schedule by day, hour, ensuring 100% its method to satisfy the requirements of rationalizing the cost for purchasing electric power.
Mr. Nguyen Tuan Tung - General Director of National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT):
Effectively applying science and technology achievements in operation of power transmission grid
EVNNPT developed a plan to implement the year’s topic in the field of power transmission namely “Improving operation efficiency of power transmission system” with the target of completing and overfulfilling targets set for 2019 as assigned by the Group.
Particularly, EVNNPT develops a strategy to apply and develop science and technology in the field of transmission, concretized by smart power grid schemes/projects and applying achievements of Industrial Revolution 4.0 into production and business, changing the method of the power grid management, reducing incidents and power loss. Particularly, the units develops a data center, implements application of power grid management by GIS, asset management; implements digital substation; strengthens monitoring of equipment installed at substation and transmission lines including online monitoring for transformers and electric resistance, equipping flying devices for monitoring transmission line, devices for monitoring line temperature, monitoring and warning lightnings, etc.
Mr. Dinh Quoc Lam - General Director of Power Generation Corporation 3 (EVNGENCO 3):
Actively preparing coal source for thermal power plants
Right from the end of 2018, EVNGENCO 3 actively worked and signed a contract with the coal supplier - Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited (TKV) and Dong Bac Corporation. However, due to limited coal supply capacity, EVNGENCO 3 actively imported about 1.2 million tons of coal to supply to Vinh Tan 2 Thermal Power Plant. According to progress, coal will be supplied at earlier February 2019.
In addition to proactive fuel sources, the Corporation directs its coal-fired thermal power plants to regularly check, asset, forecast, timely detect and handle abnormalities of operating equipment, promote applying electronic diary and implement schemes to improve efficiency and performance of thermal power plants.
The Corporation proposes relevant ministries and agencies to timely direct TKV and Dong Bac Corporation to ensure sufficient supply of coal for power generation in the dry season of 2019. For exchange rate differences when being re-assessed, it is recommended to be allocated within 5 years from the beginning of enterprise equitization model, contributing to solving difficulties for enterprises.
Mr. Pham Quoc Bao - General Director of Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation (EVNHCMC):
Improving level of power grid automation
EVNHCMC has set its target to ensure the development of power grid and improve the level of its automation, promote customer services, ensure the Group’s target of stable, quality power supply, serving socio-economic development of the country.
The Corporation develops a detailed plan with 7 groups of tasks including 70 targets and 9 groups of solutions including 90 specific solutions for implementing tasks assigned by EVN. With careful preparation, EVNHCMC aims to comprehensively complete the targets assigned by the Group in 2019.
Particularly, in 2019, EVNHCMC are striving to complete 100% remote control (mini-SCADA) for 22kV medium-voltage power grid, including at least 30% automatic operation (DMS), put the Control Center equipped with SCADA/ DMS system of international standards into operation.
