Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the results achieved by EVNGENCO 2. In which, the corporation has transformed into a joint stock company model in 2021, EVNGENCO 2 made a profitable business after equitizing, contributing to the state budget of more than VND 1,900 billion (in 2021). In addition, the Prime Minister also praised EVNGENCO 2 for showing its corporate responsibility to the community when in the first 6 months of the year, the corporation had donated VND 3 billion for social security activities.
For invested power projects in the near future, the Prime Minister proposed that EVNGENCO 2 study exploit and invest in more wind and solar power projects in the region to develop energy sources in the future, proceed to not fire coal.
Particularly for projects under O Mon Power Center, the Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vietnam Electricity (EVN), and Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) to quickly calculate how much the total amount of gas to be exploited to operate the O Mon I, II, III, IV plants and how long is the maximum exploitation capacity, thereby gradually reducing carbon emissions to 50% and ensuring the net-zero carbon emissions target by 2050.
The Prime Minister's attention is a great motivation for the leaders and employees of EVNGENCO 2 to fulfill their political tasks and ensure national energy security.
