Reinforcement of Kien Binh 220kV substation project (Kien Giang province) to 500MVA completed

Southern Power Project Management Board (SPMB), in cooperation with related units accepted and energized the reinforcement of Kien Binh 220kV substation from 375MVA to 500MVA and expansion of two 220kV bays project.

AT2 transformer (220kV-250MVA) at  Kien Binh 220kV substation had been successfully energized

The project is invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), operated by SPMB, and taken over and operated, after the project completed, by Western Power Transmission No. 3 (under Power Transmission Company No. 4).

The project includes installing a new 220kV-250MVA transformer, replacing the existing AT2 transformer (220kV-125MVA) transformer, increasing the total capacity of Kien Binh 220kV substation from 375MVA to 500MVA; completing the secondary protection and control circuit systems, communication signal systems, SCADA for the newly installed transformer; installation of mist spraying rigs and making improvement, supplement, replacement and installation of related equipment to make it suitable for the new transformer.

The project contributes to ensuring safe, continuous and stable power transmission for economic, political, social, security and defense activities in Phu Quoc island district and surrounding areas.
