The moment of connecting Se San 4 Solar Power Plant to the National Power System
The project was invested by Vietnam Electricity and Power Project Management Board 2 is assigned as the investor's representative. A Joint Venture between HUAYUAN (China) and Industrial Machinery and Equipment Corporation (MIE) implemented the project as an EPC contract.
Se San 4 Solar Power Plant Project was one of the few projects in Vietnam funded by the Agency for French Development (AFD), without government guarantee. With the prestige of EVN, the management experience of Power Project Management Board 2, during the implementation, the project was inspected onsite by AFD, which highly appreciated the project for the quality, progress, and compliance with safety, environmental and social conditions as required by AFD. This is a project of great success for it was implemented in accordance with strict quality, environmental and social requirements imposed by international organizations.

Implementation of the project was right at the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic around the world, causing a lot of difficulties, but the project progress was kept in compliance with contract.
According to Power Project Management Board 2, the design, equipment supply and construction work had been basically completed by the end of September 2020. However, rains and floods were highly unpredictable in Central Vietnam and Central Highlands, EVN had to mobilize its manpower to cope with floods and give priority to generating power from hydropower plants to bring water levels in reservoirs to flood prevention water levels. Therefore, the timing of connection of Se San 4 Solar Power Plant Project to the national power system had to be delayed in favor of performing operation, water discharge and power generation of Se San 4 Hydropower and hydropower plants on upper ladders.
