Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh and Chairman of Commission for the Management of State Capital in enterprises Nguyen Hoang Anh performing hand-over ceremony
The Ministry of Industry and Trade has 6 enterprises which are handed over to the Commission, including: Viet Nam Oil and Gas Group, Viet Nam Electricity Group, Viet Nam National Coal - Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited, Viet Nam National Chemical Group, Viet Nam National Petroleum Group and Viet Nam National Tobacco Corporation. The total value of state capital in these enterprises is over VND 555 trillion (equal to half of the total state capital that the Commission holds among 19 enterprises transferred to the Commission).
6 enterprises owned by the Ministry of Industry and Trade are economic Groups and Corporations strongly developing in their sector and have a great influence on the economy as well as made contributions to the state budget.
Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh said: In order to conduct handing over 6 enterprises to the Commission within the prescribed time limit, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Document No. 8609/BCT-TC dated 23 October 2018, and Document No. 8954/BCT-TC dated 5 November 2018 to urge handing over as well as coordinate in effective and prompt implementation of the Commission's activities.
This handing over is a big change, institutionalizing and organizing the implementation of Resolution No. 12-NQ/TW of the 5th Central Plenum Session XII on establishing specialized agency acting as owner's representative for State-owned enterprises and state capital in enterprises. The establishment of the Commission will overcome the shortcomings, limitations of the current model in representation of state capital ownership by establishing a responsible, professional and fully accountable agency.
“Additionally, the function separation of state capital ownership representation in enterprises is necessary to create equal business environment for enterprises, at the same time, facilitating state agencies to concentrate their capacity on performing state management tasks increasingly complicated in the course of socio-economic development,” said Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh.
